Library

The schoools Library colledction can be accessed through the www.

Each student becomes a borrowing member of the library and all resources are loaned out through the Bookmark computer system.
Number of books that can be borrowed:

  • Pre-School to Yr 2 = 1 book per week
  • Yr 3 & Yr 4 = 2 books per week
  • Yr 5 & Yr 6 = 3 books per week

Students can borrow books during their weekly library lessons or during the lunchtimes when the library is opened for various activities Monday to Thursday.

If the older students have a chapter book on loan and they have not finished reading it, they can extend their borrowing time by bringing the book back to the library to have it re-scanned.

Students are encouraged to use a library bag to carry their library books back and forward to school to prevent damage. Even with the greatest of care, books can be damaged by accident and any damage needs to be reported as soon as possible so the books can be repaired or written off.

Parents will be asked to pay for the replacement of damaged or lost books:

  • Class readers will be invoiced at $5.00 each.
  • Library books will be invoiced at their current replaceable cost

World Book On Line is available to all students and staff.
This is a child friendly environment where students can research for projects or subjects of interest. The school pays a subscription each year to belong to WorldBook and it can be accessed at school by the students, plus at home by using the following information. www.worldbookonline.com

Book Fairs
The School holds Bookfairs in the library and all students are encouraged to browse the selection of books on display. Students then make a "Wishlist" to take home to their parents. There is no obligation to buy from the Wishlists, it is just a way to encourage all students to broaden their knowledge of available reading materials.

Lunchtime Activities
The Library is open during lunchtimes so students who wish to can use the library to read, complete class work, research for class projects, draw, play games and generally have a cool indoors area to play in.
